The hotel of Georgian simplicity became a stopover for Cobb and Co. stagecoaches travelling between Sydney and Newcastle in the nineteenth century.  These days, in addition to being a getaway in its own right, it’s an alternative gateway to the Hunter Valley wine districts for visitors from the Central Coast as well as Sydney and its environs.  The travel time is approximately 1.5 hours by car from those areas.

The Settlers Arms Inn is open from Wednesday to Sunday (except Christmas day and Boxing Day) and is not only popular for day visitors, but also offers accommodation options for overnight stays.  Australian country-style cuisine is available. Outdoor activities may involve tennis at the local community courts, swimming in the Macdonald River, bike riding, or just ambling along the beautiful country roads.  

Entertainment is occasionally provided on Sunday afternoons in the rear garden or under the front veranda.  Upcoming performances are advertised on the Settlers Arms Facebook page and the local St Albans Community.  In the cooler months, open fireplaces add warmth and atmosphere to the dining and imbibing.

The Settlers Arms Inn is helping the local community to recover from recent floods in the Hawkesbury area and is open for business.
